The Tidal Array in a Day workshops are an initiative developed by several companies as part of the Tidal Array Group in association with RenewableUK to address the technical issues and economic risk challenges of developing demonstration and commercial Tidal Energy arrays.
The workshops are free to attend and focus on the iterative process needed when considering design elements for a complete array.

RenewableUK, in conjunction with IT Power as part of the Tidal Array Group, are bringing you the latest in insurance and contracting best practice at a free to attend marine energy workshop on the 22nd of May in Aberdeen. This workshop will take place from 2pm – 5pm at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference centre the day before All-Energy conference and exhibition. It will be followed by the RenewableUK connect event and is the ideal opportunity to engage with marine energy pioneers.
For marine energy technologies, insurance makes up a significant proportion of project costs and urgent work is needed to lower the risks for the marine energy industries. RenewableUK’s new guidance on reducing marine energy insurance costs will be launched at this free workshop and we will clarify the process to improve relationships with insurance brokers and underwriters.
A crucial way that risk is mitigated is through the contractual framework. This workshop will explore how early involvement with insurers can tackle issues before they arise and minimise exposure to risk. The workshop will outline how contracting arrangements have strengthened the ability of the industry to deliver projects and ensure all eventualities are catered for.
We have several high profile speakers confirmed in both the insurance and contracting areas as well as several leading developers sharing insights into their experiences. View the agenda for a list of the speakers.
